When I'm not working on my design projects you can find me at one of the business I help my partner run - Farmstead Bike Shop & Raven’s Nest Cafe. I like a great cortado in the morning, a bike ride in the afternoon, and good music or a good movie to wind down at night.

In a former life I was a touring musician and I still write songs and share them with audiences once in a while. Over the past few years my creative efforts have shifted to visual design, textile crafts, and writing poetry and prose.

The overlap of logic and creativity that is needed for Product Design is where I excel. I love the work and I look forward to gaining more experience, showing the world my skills, and learning from my clients and co-workers.

About my process with freelance clients:

I want to know everything I can about your vision and your goals. Do you need an app or a website or both? Do you already have clear and consistent branding or do you need help with that as well?

Let’s start with a free one-hour consultation. When we meet I will ask many questions until I can see the perfect product emerge in my imagination.

If you choose to work with me my curiosity will continue over the course of the entire project so that I know I’m serving you well and we are always on the same page.

You can expect to have a clear timeline, understandable expectations and deliverables, as well as continued communication.

You and your users come first; hand in hand with informative data and research. In the early stages of my design process I use a combination of imagined users based on market research, user journeys, and real life user testing to gain insights to inform my decisions on design elements and features.

Once we have a high-fidelity mock-up that you’re pleased with, it’s time to develop your product - let’s bring it to life!

I am prepared to develop websites on Squarespace and I’m familiar with some e-commerce integrations. If you are in need of an app or a complex website, I have access to freelance developers that can help. At this point they do the coding and I do the pretty stuff.

After your product is launched we have options: I can stay involved and maintain content or I can hand over the reigns to you and your company.

My rates vary on the size and scope of the project. I am a junior designer so I may be less expensive than designers with years of experience. However, I do believe my work is valuable and I will not work for free. I can work hourly or for a flat rate. I am also open to some barter or trade for things like acupuncture, massage, or tattoos.
